Smartphones are so convenient but, if you’re not paying attention, they will cause injuries, pain, and make you look unattractive.
Did you know that 2 billion smartphones are in use today? And this number is expected to rise to 6 billion by the year 2020. Texting, FaceTime, email, music, apps, and more! For better or worse, mobile phones have become an extension of our bodies.
Most of the time when we use our phones it’s with poor posture, and this is absolutely hurting our bodies. Take a look at people around you. How are they holding their phones? Are they sitting or standing upright – or are they slouching and looking down?
Slouching and looking down is a habitual posture that is causing neck, back and arm pain. In many cases, this is becoming an irreversible problem.

Because of our increasing reliance on smartphones, behaviors are changing as people are spending more time with these devices. Prolonged postures are a result, with slouching as the main go to position. Injuries to the neck, shoulders and upper back are increasing due to assumed slouched posture.
And with injury and pain also comes increased health costs for treatment intervention, and depending on level of pain, there is the loss of income and missing out on a higher-quality of life.
